This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Interact with clients in the renewable energy sector
• Foster strong client relationships through consistent internal and external communication
• Execute remote commissioning of PLC- and SCADA-based control systems for solar and BESS facilities
• Diagnose PLC systems including Allen Bradley, Schneider, and SEL platforms
• Address issues with HMI/SCADA systems such as Ignition, Wonderware, and Kepware/Topserver
• Test and troubleshoot communications among PLCs, inverters, relays, meters, and HMI/SCADA systems
• Perform I/O validation, logic testing, and control sequence verification during site startup
• Work alongside field teams to resolve real-time system problems via VPN or remote desktop
• Review and adjust ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagrams
• Assist with integration into plant SCADA platforms like Ignition, Wonderware, GE iFIX, and Cimplicity
• Document commissioning outcomes, punch list items, and corrective measures
• Engage in after-hours commissioning activities, including nights and weekends
• Offer remote technical support to operations teams following commissioning
• Comprehend and revise technical documentation, including control logic, test procedures, and user manuals
• Complete responsibilities within designated timeframes while ensuring personal and product quality
• Associate degree in a technical field
• Over 3 years of experience in industrial automation, ideally in energy, utilities, or process control
• Exposure to the renewable energy sector – Wind, PV, BESS
• Preferred experience in Function Block and/or structured text programming
• Proven expertise and operational knowledge of communication protocols (DNP3, Modbus, etc.) and internet network architectures
• Established experience in commissioning PLC and SCADA systems, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, and SEL
• Strong grasp of Modbus TCP/IP, DNP3, and other industrial communication protocols
• Familiarity with solar plant or BESS architectures, including inverters, relays, and control panels
• Competence in network configuration, managed switches, IP addressing, and VPNs
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to operate under time-sensitive commissioning scenarios
• Background in renewable energy or power systems
• Knowledge of site commissioning procedures, safety protocols, and QA/QC documentation
• Strong skills in communication, documentation, troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and organization
• Willingness to travel 50% of the time
• Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation
• Availability for mandatory weekend and evening shifts
• Valid driver's license and ability to comply with company driving standards
• Must possess permanent authorization to work in the US
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SQL, and Access
• Capability to interpret communication diagrams, logic diagrams, and network schematics
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines
