System Engineer – IBM POWER, AIX

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Lithuania.

📋 Description

• Oversee, configure, monitor, and manage the lifecycle of IBM POWER systems operating on AIX

• Execute performance tuning, patch management, and troubleshooting tasks

• Develop, maintain, and consistently update system, architecture, and environment documentation

• Design, develop, and implement automation solutions utilizing scripting and orchestration tools

• Assist in the architectural design, implementation, configuration, and ongoing management of new infrastructure elements

• Plan and carry out system rollouts, upgrades, and migrations

• Perform risk assessment, testing, stakeholder coordination, and post-migration validation

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in the administration and configuration of AIX systems within enterprise settings

• Strong experience managing enterprise storage infrastructures like HP 3PAR and IBM V7000

• Familiarity with other Unix/Linux distributions

• Proficient shell scripting abilities for automation and troubleshooting purposes

• Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities

• Methodical, independent, and accountable work ethic

• High level of customer orientation with a service- and solution-focused approach

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Business-fluent in English, both written and spoken

• Proficiency in German is considered a plus
