Senior Finance Systems Engineer – Oracle Fusion

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Lead the transformation of finance technology at Block.

• Take ownership of the architecture and scalability of the technology stack that supports Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, and FP&A.

• Integrate AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, Claude, and GitHub Copilot into daily development workflows.

• Design and uphold data models and solution architectures for Oracle FAH, GL, SLA, and BIP.

• Architect, develop, and maintain integrations between accounting systems, data lakes, and internal applications utilizing SQL, PL/SQL, REST, SOAP, and JSON.

• Identify inefficiencies within systems and implement automation to enhance financial workflows.

• Convert accounting principles and business needs into scalable technical designs and detailed documentation.

• Collaborate with business leaders, product managers, and data engineers to provide enterprise solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated hands-on expertise in configuring, customizing, and supporting Oracle FAH, GL, SLA, and BIP.

• Strong command of relational databases, advanced SQL/PL/SQL, and web services (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML).

• Proven experience in transforming accounting processes, financial data modeling, and comprehensive solution architecture.

• Ability to navigate complex organizational dependencies and streamline technical debt into efficient, automated processes.

• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java) is a plus.

• Familiarity with auxiliary financial modules such as Tax and FCCS is an advantage.

• Prior experience in fintech, banking, or cryptocurrency platforms is beneficial.

• Capability to provide guidance to senior leaders on Oracle and in-house solutions.

• Strong collaborative skills with cross-functional teams including Accounting, Data Engineering, Product Management, and Integration teams.
