Synthetic / Process Chemist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop complex single-turn prompts for advanced AI models in the fields of chemistry and chemical safety.

• Classify prompts as benign, dual-use, or adversarial.

• Assess model responses against established policy standards.

• Evaluate if model responses effectively address technical inquiries.

• Create reference answers and clarify the technical reasoning behind them.

• Conduct red-team exercises focused on synthetic chemistry, process chemistry, reaction engineering, scale-up, precursor sourcing, controlled substances, and regulatory chemistry.

• Produce written rationales that are accessible to non-specialists.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in synthetic route design and development within the pharmaceutical, agrochemical, or fine chemicals sectors.

• Background in process chemistry and reaction engineering, including optimization, kinetics, and impurity management.

• Experience transitioning processes from bench-scale to pilot and full-scale production, including necessary safety reviews.

• Familiarity with precursor sourcing, controlled-substance registration, or regulatory chemistry.

• Skills in method development and troubleshooting within a GMP or equivalent quality assurance environment.

• Ability to differentiate routine professional chemistry inquiries from potentially hazardous misuse requests.

• Excellent technical writing skills; every evaluation must include a written rationale that is comprehensible to non-specialists.

• Prior experience in technical writing, published research, or as an expert witness is highly valued.

• Must refrain from using classified, export-controlled, NDA-protected, or prepublication-review materials.
