This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +4 more states.
• Identify and acquire materials and services related to Computer IT Hardware & Software commodities.
• Implement sourcing strategies, conduct price analysis, determine commercial item classifications, negotiate terms, and manage procurement activities in compliance with FAR and DFARS.
• Develop bid packages, assess and evaluate proposals, negotiate purchase order terms, manage purchase orders, and guarantee timely delivery.
• Assess and track supplier quality, dependability, and their capacity to meet delivery timelines in partnership with the quality organization.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that product and service specifications are suitable.
• Discover cost-reduction, efficiency-enhancement, and risk-management strategies through focused negotiations.
• Oversee purchase order performance, ensuring adherence to public law, company policies, procedures, and import/export regulations.
• Engage and cooperate with stakeholders and organizations both within and outside the Global Supply Chain.
• Organize, schedule, and coordinate activities to meet objectives.
• Evaluate supplier performance and apply sound business practices during follow-up actions.
• Review and authorize supplier payments, including invoice reconciliation.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution along with 2+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, or a closely related field, OR a Master's degree and 1+ year of experience.
• If a degree is not held, an additional 4+ years of relevant experience may be considered.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Willingness to undertake stretch assignments/projects as directed.
• Strong time management and organizational skills; capability to advance multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Knowledge of federal acquisition thresholds and documentation requirements.
• Comprehensive understanding of the procurement process within a government contracting framework.
• Familiarity with MRP systems such as SAP or Costpoint.
• Preferred: experience with low to moderate value and complexity purchases, including single/sole source with source-controlled drawings.
• Preferred: experience in an engineering development environment.
• Preferred: experience with Computer IT Hardware & Software commodities that have specifications/configuration requirements.
• Preferred: experience leading negotiations with suppliers.
• Preferred: basic understanding of technical drawings and documents.
• Preferred: knowledge of government contracting requirements and regulations.
