Senior Manager, Clinical Supply Chain

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Oversee all facets of supply management, encompassing planning, sourcing, logistics, and supplier relations, to support commercial and late-stage clinical products.

• Create and uphold precise pharmaceutical product demand forecasts that integrate market trends, promotional efforts, and regulatory factors.

• Maintain market intelligence alongside streamlined business processes and systems.

• Collaborate with commercial, marketing, and finance teams on new product launches and lifecycle management forecasts.

• Track forecast accuracy and apply continuous improvement strategies utilizing advanced analytics.

• Leverage data analytics for informed decision-making and contributions to governance forums.

• Develop and implement supply plans that align with demand forecasts, production capabilities, and inventory goals.

• Recognize and address supply risks, including capacity limitations, supplier compliance challenges, and regulatory setbacks.

• Manage relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturing partners in the role of Strategic Business Relationship Manager.

• Supervise financial obligations and legal contracts in accordance with the delegation of authority matrix.

• Facilitate strategic meetings with contract manufacturing partners.

• Lead cross-functional teams in managing essential suppliers.

• Collaborate with Supply Chain initiatives to advance and implement Product Strategies.

• Exercise process ownership and make data-driven risk decisions; escalate matters to management in a clear, fact-based manner.

• Lead or assist in supply chain management initiatives that involve planning software, ERP systems, product strategy, and logistics.

• Work with R&D, CMC, Commercial, and Quality teams to support the commercialization of clinical product candidates.

• Contribute to the Sales & Operations Planning process.

• Prepare and engage in Supply Chain Governance forums.

• Develop cost-effective supply chain systems and processes.

• Assess potential suppliers and provide actionable recommendations to management.

• Support global supply chain business initiatives.

• Drive the implementation of internal best practices throughout the supply and distribution organization.

• Ensure that activities and operations comply with regulations and remain within budget.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related discipline is required.

• A minimum of 8 to 12 years of relevant supply chain planning/management experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical sector (6 to 8 years if holding a Master's degree).

• At least 3 to 5 years of proficiency in ERP systems, forecasting tools, and advanced Excel capabilities.

• Ability to foster collaborative relationships with SMP and other key global partners.

• Experience in strategic global supply chain and supplier relationship management.

• Capability to manage regulatory and technical changes while evaluating the business and financial implications of decisions.

• Strong negotiation skills and proven competence in interacting with suppliers, as well as external and internal customers.

• Financial acumen and experience in budgeting.

• Effective influencing and communication skills.

• Significant experience in supply chain and distribution management within a pharmaceutical or other FDA-regulated environment.

• Proficiency in ERP software with a focus on end-to-end Planning, Purchasing, and Inventory Management processes.

• Deep understanding of regulatory and technical influences, along with the ability to evaluate business and financial implications of decisions.

• Strong capability to engage with suppliers, internal customers, and upper management in a professional manner.

• Data-driven decision-making and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills; detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.

• In-depth knowledge of GMP manufacturing, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, budget planning, financial, and commercial operations for biological and small molecule pharmaceuticals.

• Demonstrated ability to spearhead process improvement initiatives and deliver business processes and/or technical solutions that satisfy various stakeholder groups.

• Interest in supply chain optimization and simulation.

• High level of organizational awareness, with the ability to comprehend interdependencies and the overall landscape.
