Supplier Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +45 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist in supplier quality initiatives to meet operational and strategic quality objectives.

• Develop strong relationships with external suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders, including Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Engineering.

• Implement APQP and support VPI quality activities for internal Engine Business suppliers.

• Acquire and utilize APQP, AIAG, and Cummins specialty tools to enhance or refine supplier manufacturing processes.

• Engage in external supplier audits and may lead low-complexity, low-risk audits following certification.

• Help address supplier-related quality issues through root cause analysis, corrective measures, and effectiveness verification.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives leveraging lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

• Take part in quality performance planning and enhancement for designated product types or supplier segments.

• Support Product Problem Solving (PPS) efforts and ensure successful product launches.

• Assess supplier product design, manufacturing processes, and product validation concerning reliability standards.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific field is required.

• Degree must be from an accredited U.S. college or university.

• External candidates should be within 2 years of obtaining their highest degree.

• Candidates must currently reside in the continental U.S.

• F-1 students must possess approved CPT or OPT prior to the start of the Early Career assignment; authorization must be relevant to the degree and sanctioned by the university.

• A minimal level of relevant work experience is necessary.

• Skills in project management.

• Proficiency in problem solving.

• Demonstrated resourcefulness.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Familiarity with APQP, AIAG tools, and Cummins specialty tools.

• Understanding of GD&T and Engineering Standards.

• Knowledge of manufacturing technology and process validation.

• Awareness of DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, Source Release, and PPAP.

• Understanding of ISO9001:2015 and IATF16949.

• Proficiency with statistical tools and techniques.

• This role may require licensing to comply with export controls or sanctions regulations.
