Summer Internship – MIS Data Science

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Execute MIS-related responsibilities assigned by the department under general oversight.

• Aid in the deployment of ensemble machine learning techniques, deep learning, and advanced optimization methods.

• Evaluate hypotheses and extract insights from extensive mining datasets.

• Contribute to the development, implementation, and upkeep of practical analytical tools utilizing statistical methodologies.

• Leverage modern cloud technologies like Microsoft Azure to provide scalable analytics solutions.

• Illustrate the impact of analytics for leadership.

• Be available for scheduled and unscheduled overtime or work beyond regular hours as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled full-time as a sophomore or above at an accredited four-year institution pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in MIS, Computer Technology, Analytics, or a closely related field; OR a recent graduate who completed their degree within 12 months prior to the internship start date.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Strong skills in data analysis and problem-solving.

• Highly accurate with a keen attention to detail.

• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

• Demonstrated initiative and organizational capabilities.

• Ability to perform well under pressure.

• Competency in collaborating effectively within a team environment.

• Ability to exemplify the core values of Safety, Respect, Integrity, Excellence, and Commitment.

• Preferred: experience with SQL.

• Preferred: capability to construct complex predictive models using Python, R, or other rigorous analytical platforms.

• Preferred: experience in deconstructing problem statements into root causes and customizing solutions based on findings.

• May need to pass a medical examination.

• Must complete all necessary training and/or testing successfully.

• May be required to work a non-standard schedule, including shifts in a 24/7, 365-day operation.

• Must adhere to mandatory pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol testing as permitted by applicable laws.
