Senior Data Scientist, Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Perform analysis and in-depth investigations on complex business challenges, generating insights and recommendations to support team decision-making.

• Manage a comprehensive range of data and metrics, from primary logging to the presentation of data visualizations.

• Lead code reviews and offer expertise in SQL and Python.

• Develop and sustain well-structured ETL jobs.

• Ensure statistical accuracy in experiments and causal analyses.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to shape the roadmap and gain insights into user behavior.

• Define and establish key metrics, create measurement and causal frameworks, and convert insights into product strategies and implemented enhancements.

• Enhance the customer experience across Coinbase consumer offerings, including spot and advanced trading, yield, Coinbase One, international expansion, prediction markets, and equities trading.

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS in a quantitative field (e.g., Math, Statistics, Physics, or Computer Science) with at least 5+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD in a quantitative discipline with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience.

• Proven track record of leading impactful data science initiatives in uncertain problem environments.

• Capability to persuade external stakeholders by transforming data insights into compelling narratives.

• Practical knowledge in applying complex modeling frameworks to business challenges.

• Professional experience with SQL and Python.

• Experience in working with digital products within an iterative development framework.

• Strong communication skills, positive attitude, commitment to continuous learning, and efficient execution.

• Ability to responsibly utilize generative AI tools and copilots (e.g., LibreChat, Gemini, Glean), implement human-in-the-loop practices, and produce business-ready outputs.
