Summer Intern – Forward Deployed Engineer, Global Public Sector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Observe Forward Deployed Engineers and Deployment Strategists during customer meetings and collaborative sessions.

• Understand how business challenges transform into AI solutions.

• Participate in the development of AI agents that perform tangible actions for government, nonprofit, and educational organizations.

• Create and evaluate prompts to enhance agent reasoning and tool utilization.

• Manage an intern project, which could involve developing a tool, prototype, or internal accelerator.

• Assist in constructing data pipelines and integrating systems using Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, or Databricks.

• Aid in the creation of dashboards to monitor agent performance.

• Develop proofs-of-concept from initial ideas to functional demonstrations.

• Showcase work and exchange ideas with senior engineers and the product team.

• Deliver a capstone project presentation at the conclusion of the 12-week program.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite.

• Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Computer Science or a similar discipline.

• Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex.

• Some familiarity with LLMs and prompt engineering gained through class projects, personal initiatives, hackathons, or previous internships.

• Basic knowledge of APIs, databases, and data modeling.

• Relevant coursework, internships, or activities that align with the skills required for this role.

• Excellent communication skills and comfort in collaborating with both technical and non-technical team members.

• A strong curiosity about AI and an eagerness to experiment with new tools and models.

• A collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

• Salesforce Trailhead badges or certifications are considered advantageous.

• Familiarity with agent frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex is a plus.

• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery is beneficial.

• An interest in public sector, higher education, or nonprofit work would be advantageous.
