This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct research and compose written materials on domestic and international law, encompassing environmental law, human rights law, international investment law, and international trade law and policy.

• Provide assistance with policy analysis and advocacy efforts.

• Participate in meetings and conferences.

• Aid in the production of CIEL publications, legal opinions, and legal briefs.

• Support the preparation of amicus curiae submissions for international tribunals.

• Collaborate closely with CIEL staff on various initiatives.

• Enhance skills through guided research, analysis, training, and practical experience in international environmental law and human rights.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in a program leading to a postgraduate law degree (JD, LLM) or an equivalent professional qualification throughout the internship period.

• Recent graduates are not eligible for acceptance.

• Must have some background in international environmental or human rights law, gained through graduate-level courses or relevant work experience.

• A commitment of ten weeks at 40 hours per week is required.

• A cover letter, resume, and writing sample must be submitted.

• Must reside physically in the United States during the internship.

• CIEL is unable to sponsor visas.

• Non-U.S. citizens must be currently enrolled students in the U.S. and must undertake the internship as part of a university-sponsored student visa.
