This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +3 more states.
• Lead a team of civil and/or electrical engineers and technicians focused on substation engineering.
• Provide support for substation projects, business growth, and company objectives.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, account management, and project management units.
• Manage engineering tasks throughout the proposal, design, and construction phases of designated substation projects.
• Supervise project engineering scope, change orders, and timelines.
• Direct and coordinate various engineering disciplines and project management teams.
• Ensure project quality and responsiveness to client needs.
• Oversee substation design efforts and review technical drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Provide strategic guidance, leadership, and oversight of technical services for team members.
• Develop and manage team budgets including revenue, profitability, training, recognition, and team events.
• Mentor, train, and enhance the skills of engineering staff.
• Conduct one-on-one meetings, career discussions, succession planning, performance reviews, promotion considerations, retention initiatives, and engagement surveys.
• Manage resource allocation, cross-team and cross-office staffing, performance assessments, merit and bonus evaluations, training, and professional development opportunities.
• Assist in hiring through resume assessments, technical phone interviews, collaboration with HR, interviews, and debrief sessions.
• Collaborate with Sales and engineering teams to boost revenue and broaden service offerings.
• Support the development and review of proposals in conjunction with Proposal Development and Project Management teams.
• Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients.
• Engage in strategic initiatives for the company and department.
• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience in the engineering field is preferred.
• PE registration is mandatory.
• Must be analytical and self-driven.
• Ability to perform well in high-pressure environments while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative demeanor.
• Strong business insight and industry knowledge are essential.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and sustain effective working relationships.
• Capability to manage multiple projects while setting clear expectations and being responsive.
• Outstanding presentation and verbal/written communication skills.
• Proven proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Must have authorization to work permanently in the United States.
• A valid driver's license is preferred.
