Engineering Manager, Mobile

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and development of high-quality mobile applications and platform systems for enterprises.

• Create scalable, stable, and secure mobile frameworks and platforms.

• Propel architectural advancements, platform upgrades, and comprehensive codebase modifications.

• Establish and uphold engineering standards, development practices, and reusable architectures.

• Assess, choose, and implement AI-assisted coding tools and development workflows.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mobile engineers.

• Cultivate an engineering culture through Agile methodologies, technical excellence, and teamwork.

• Assist engineers in navigating complex technical decisions to ensure high-quality outcomes.

• Aid in hiring, onboarding, and career advancement initiatives.

• Work collaboratively with technical, product, design, and leadership teams to transform requirements into scalable software solutions.

• Organize and direct replatforming initiatives and extensive refactoring efforts.

• Guarantee delivery through contemporary Agile methodologies.

• Review and sanction architecture, designs, and code.

• Create software specifications, system designs, and technical documentation.

• Analyze requirements and suggest scalable solutions that integrate with existing systems.

• Direct the development or modification of internal and third-party applications.

• Assist in testing strategies, system validation, and release readiness.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with substantial mobile development experience.

• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams.

• Extensive expertise in mobile development for both iOS and Android platforms.

• Familiarity with KMP, CMP, and React Native is advantageous.

• Demonstrated experience in constructing or redesigning mobile architectures and frameworks from scratch.

• Proven background in leading large-scale replatforming or codebase overhaul initiatives.

• Experience integrating AI-assisted development tools or AI coding workflows within engineering teams.

• Strong familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

• In-depth knowledge of modern mobile development languages and frameworks.

• Solid foundation in object-oriented architecture and scalable system design.

• Experience in developing reusable architectures and shared mobile frameworks.

• Capacity to assess and adopt new technologies that enhance engineering speed and quality.

• Strong technical mentorship capabilities and leadership skills.

• Ability to balance hands-on technical involvement with team leadership responsibilities.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and leadership teams.
