This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Act as a senior technical expert and advisor for the team.

• Offer specialized technical insights for studies and utility-scale substation design.

• Create procedures for studies and designs that ensure high-quality and cost-effective outcomes.

• Engage in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.

• Generate estimates of technical efforts required for projects.

• Conduct quality-control reviews of design calculations and drawings.

• Draft technical specification sections.

• Contribute to the development of engineering budgets and schedules.

• Recognize key client interests and drivers.

• Convey client interests and drivers to project team members.

• Formulate strategies to address client concerns.

• Eliminate barriers that hinder the engineering team.

• Counsel management on enhancing team ROI.

• Attend all technical review meetings with clients.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and proven equivalence of experience and/or education.

• At least 6 years of pertinent experience in high voltage substation design (physical).

• Professional Engineer license (PE) is required.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation.

• Experience with CDEGS and WinIGS.

• Skilled in evaluating mechanical forces and thermal impacts of high fault currents on rigid bus.

• Understanding of construction practices and constructability considerations.

• Experience in proposal writing and project estimating.

• Working knowledge of scheduling and project control processes.

• A minimum of 2 years overseeing and managing a project team.

• Capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects and assignments.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Solid understanding of industry and technology trends related to substations.

• Strong familiarity with the NEC and National Electrical Safety Code.

• Must have authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available.
