This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the execution of Renewables, Utility, and Power projects within the Substation department.
• Serve as either a discipline engineer or an overall project engineer.
• Organize, schedule, conduct, and oversee detailed phases of assigned project tasks.
• Provide design recommendations, adjustments, and modifications pertaining to foundation design, structural steel design, and grading plans.
• Carry out engineering calculations utilizing formulas and engage in both computer-aided and manual design tasks.
• Employ standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria effectively.
• Create plans, specifications, and observation reports.
• Implement efficiency engineering principles in design selection.
• Suggest design modifications to enhance quality.
• Collaborate with engineering technicians and seasoned engineers.
• Operate in the office or field as necessary.
• Address design challenges through field investigations or observations.
• Review design calculations completed by others for accuracy.
• Coordinate specific design aspects of the project.
• Execute comprehensive engineering design and evaluations within the area of specialty.
• Develop innovative approaches and solutions to overcome challenges.
• Prepare project direction reports and related correspondence.
• Engage in marketing, sales, and business development initiatives.
• Maintain communication with clients to ensure their requirements are fulfilled.
• Collaborate with other disciplines on multidisciplinary projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent is required.
• Civil/structural Professional Engineer (PE) registration, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire, is required.
• Structural Engineer registration is preferred.
• A minimum of 4 years of engineering experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with electrical utility substation layout and design is preferred.
• Understanding of structural steel, drilled pier & spread footing design and detailing is required.
• Grading design knowledge is preferred.
• Experience with MathCAD, STAAD or equivalent, foundation design software, and/or other structural modeling tools is preferred.
• Knowledge of AISC and ACI standards is required.
• Familiarity with ASCE and NESC standards is preferred.
• Basic understanding of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is preferred.
• Proven proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Willingness to embrace innovation and apply emerging technology and AI tools.
• Up to 15% travel may be required.
