Civil Engineering Expert

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design complex civil engineering challenges for the training and assessment of frontier AI systems.

• Develop deterministic problems that yield a single correct solution.

• Produce comprehensive, verified solutions and meticulously document the reasoning process.

• Create challenges that encompass structural analysis, geotechnical engineering, hydraulics, transportation, construction, or infrastructure systems.

• Formulate problems that necessitate multi-step engineering reasoning rather than mere formula application.

• Utilize Python, MATLAB, structural analysis software, or other engineering tools to validate solutions where applicable.

• Ensure that outputs are technically accurate, reproducible, and well-articulated in English.

• Contribute to the development of high-quality STEM training data utilized in training and evaluation processes at top AI laboratories.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's or PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.

• Significant research or industry experience in structural, geotechnical, transportation, hydraulic, construction, or infrastructure engineering.

• Strong skills in quantitative modeling and engineering problem-solving.

• Solid grasp of engineering mechanics, numerical methods, and technical standards.

• Capability to design original, challenging problems that reflect realistic workflows in civil engineering.

• Exceptional attention to detail along with strong technical writing skills in English.

• Familiarity with SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, PLAXIS, Civil 3D, MATLAB, Python, or similar tools is advantageous.

• Experience in structural simulation, finite element analysis, infrastructure modeling, or engineering optimization is a plus.

• Background in evaluating technical work, developing assessments, or creating educational content in engineering is beneficial.
