This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers at the district level to drive new business and facilitate expansion.
• Promote Newsela’s products related to assessment, data warehousing, and MTSS.
• Engage with a diverse range of K-12 stakeholders while prioritizing student success in all discussions.
• Take ownership of the designated territory and oversee the entire sales lifecycle.
• Identify and pursue new district business opportunities, managing the process from pipeline generation to final closure.
• Oversee the creation of pipelines, manage ongoing pipeline activities, forecast sales, and lead generation initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal teams and a regional sales force.
• Develop strategic territory plans that incorporate funding, state initiatives, demographics, and insights into the K-12 landscape.
• Meet individual revenue objectives.
• Act as a representative of the company in the marketplace while independently managing priorities.
• Assess customer needs, create customized solutions, negotiate within set parameters, and influence revenue results.
• Conduct regular meetings with executive leadership to review deal strategies, industry trends, and district initiatives.
• Utilize support from the dedicated business team and Learning & Enablement team.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience as an Account Executive is required.
• Proven track record of achieving or surpassing significant sales quotas.
• Required experience in selling products to school districts within the K-12 EdTech sector.
• Required experience in selling curriculum, assessment, data warehousing, and/or MTSS products in the K-12 EdTech market.
• Strong networking, prospecting, and pipeline generation experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in forecasting business in the EdTech industry.
• Familiarity with the MEDDPICC sales methodology.
• Proven experience in strategic territory management.
• Executive presence to conduct consultative discussions with districts and manage multiple stakeholders.
• Experience with AI tools to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Willingness and capability to develop a book of business from the ground up.
• Ability to meet set sales targets in a dynamic environment.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25%, likely several times each quarter, based on business and customer requirements.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
