Staff Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +45 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the development of test strategies and plans for extensive, intricate software projects in alignment with business goals.

• Champion an automation-first approach to testing and incorporate testing into CI/CD pipelines.

• Create, execute, review, and approve high-complexity cross-functional test scenarios.

• Lead both manual and automated testing initiatives while enhancing automation coverage.

• Detect complex defects, provide comprehensive bug analysis, and manage defect tracking until resolution.

• Establish optimal practices for test documentation and defect management.

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and uphold quality standards.

• Propel continuous improvement initiatives and utilize quantitative metrics to assess testing efficiency and software quality.

• Assess and integrate new testing technologies, tools, and methodologies.

• Mentor junior test engineers and facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions.

• Proactively identify bottlenecks and assist teams in navigating complex technical challenges.

• Develop and review testing strategies across projects and organizational functions.

• Monitor, analyze, and interpret testing metrics to suggest process enhancements.

• Define strategies, policies, standards, and best practices for test engineering.

• Collaborate with the SET team to prioritize automation across large, complex projects and multiple teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Over 8 years of experience in the industry.

• Practical experience leading testing teams on medium-sized projects.

• More than 3 years of experience in writing complex automation tests.

• Preferably 7 or more years of white box testing experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in automation testing is preferred.

• More than 3 years of experience with Java or Python is preferred.

• Over 3 years of experience testing UI and APIs is preferred.

• Familiarity with the insurance industry is preferred.

• Experience in leveraging AI for testing is preferred.

• Capability to manage multiple large testing projects across various teams or business units.

• Proficient in leading task-specific collaboration and conveying precise technical information.

• Expertise in scalable and efficient testing methodologies.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Skilled in resolving highly complex issues and system-level challenges.

• Ability to analyze intricate product requirements and define the testing strategy.

• Proficient in defect tracking management and documentation tools.

• Capability to write and maintain complex automated test scripts using Selenium, TestNG, or similar tools.

• Advanced API testing skills utilizing Postman, SoapUI, and custom scripts.

• Adaptability to changing requirements, technologies, priorities, work styles, and responsibilities.

• Domain-specific product knowledge and expertise in testing strategy.
