Staff Software Engineer – Referrals, Conversions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and enhance scalable referral pathways for partners.

• Establish systems for managing referrals, partner data, and patient booking experiences.

• Design robust systems and deliver software that influences partner referrals and enhances patient care experiences.

• Collaborate with the Engineering Manager, product managers, designers, and engineers on technical decisions.

• Oversee intricate technical projects across various teams.

• Mentor engineers, assist peers in overcoming obstacles, and elevate the technical standards across Rula.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code to boost productivity and reduce time-to-value.

• Define technical scope, estimates, execution, and adapt roadmaps as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of relevant professional experience.

• Strong grasp of modern application design architecture, API design patterns, security, performance, and scalability.

• Skilled in designing and evolving system architectures while assessing tradeoffs.

• Demonstrated capability to lead intricate technical projects across teams, shaping scope, estimates, and execution.

• Competence in aligning technical decisions with business objectives.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to cultivate positive relationships with partners and stakeholders.

• Proficient with AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or comparable work experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with modern infrastructure and tooling is preferred.

• Experience in developing distributed systems, particularly event-based systems is preferred.

• Background in building systems that interface or integrate with third-party services is preferred.

• Capability to troubleshoot complex production issues and advocate for reliability enhancements is preferred.

• Experience in early-stage or high-growth startup environments and adeptness in navigating ambiguity is preferred.

• Must reside in the United States; currently, we are not hiring in Hawaii.
