Staff Software Engineer, Program Structure & Trust

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the design and delivery of Vanta's enterprise organizational model across multiple quarters.

• Establish core abstractions to address diverse and conflicting enterprise requirements.

• Modify a live production system to support a multi-tenant organizational framework.

• Develop safe migration strategies and sequence incremental deliveries while ensuring continuity for current customers.

• Deliver significant customer value each quarter through well-defined incremental solution phases.

• Engage directly with enterprise clients and apply product judgment effectively.

• Propel execution across teams beyond your immediate area by leveraging technical clarity and credibility.

• Collaborate with Engineering leadership, Product, and Design to convert the long-term vision into phased deliverables.

• Establish technical standards, define reusable patterns, influence architecture across teams, and exemplify engineering excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of extensive backend engineering experience.

• Proven history of leading intricate, multi-quarter technical initiatives in fast-paced, product-driven settings.

• Experience in designing platform abstractions to meet conflicting enterprise needs.

• Demonstrated ability to ship large, structurally complex problems in an incremental manner.

• Experience working across multiple squads and teams without direct authority.

• Profound knowledge of tenancy models, role-based access control, data isolation, scoped permissions, cross-tenant operations, and access boundary design.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Familiarity with data residency or GovCloud is advantageous.

• Willingness to utilize AI to enhance skills and boost efficiency and impact.
