This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Identify, articulate, and resolve strategically critical technical challenges.
• Design and develop highly scalable foundational platforms.
• Drive new product initiatives and enhance existing core application experiences.
• Implement and oversee security measures for SOX and other regulatory compliance.
• Mentor and guide engineers while fostering the development of future leaders.
• Assist with infrastructure audits and due diligence activities.
• Provide strategic advice to leadership regarding technology adoption and process enhancements.
• Contribute to shaping the overall engineering culture.
• Engage in the shared on-call rotation.
• Address incidents, diagnose production issues, outages, and critical alerts.
• Conduct root cause analysis and enhance service reliability.
• Escalate incidents and collaborate effectively to restore service.
• Document issues and work towards minimizing recurring incidents.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience in the industry.
• Proven history of creating impactful products or systems.
• Proficient in writing logical and maintainable code.
• Capable of providing clear and constructive feedback during code reviews.
• Technical aptitude to comprehend and contribute to project and idea design and implementation.
• Strong communication skills and effective prioritization abilities.
• Willingness to participate in a shared on-call rotation for production systems support.
• Availability for occasional after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage while on call.
• Experience in a pre-IPO or public company setting is advantageous.
• Familiarity with operating Ruby on Rails in a cloud environment for 2+ years is a plus.
• Must reside and work remotely from Canada.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada.
• Proficiency in English is required.
