Staff Software Engineer, Payments – Trust

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the technical strategy for payment processing, fraud prevention, and financial data platforms.

• Define and deploy new functionalities alongside Backend and Mobile engineers.

• Collaborate with teams including Product Management, Design, Data Science, Support, and Finance.

• Develop robust platforms capable of processing millions of transactions.

• Enhance the customer payment experience.

• Enable specialized payment functionalities tailored to local markets.

• Create tools to boost financial efficiency.

• Monitor system performance and leverage data analytics to gauge customer success.

• Address production incidents, outages, and critical alerts during on-call shifts.

• Troubleshoot issues, escalate incidents, and work collaboratively to restore service.

• Conduct root cause analyses and contribute to improvements in service reliability.

• Document issues to minimize recurring incidents.

• Engage in mentorship, learning initiatives, and contribute to shaping Lime's Engineering culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in software development.

• Proven history of developing impactful products or systems.

• Experience in shipping software and addressing challenges at scale in payment processing, accounting, or fraud prevention.

• Capability to define enabling architectures and guide technical direction.

• Ability to achieve substantial outcomes through the contributions of multiple engineers.

• Data-driven mindset, including tracking work and analyzing customer data.

• Exceptional communication skills and effective management of competing priorities.

• Customer-centric approach to understanding and resolving customer issues.

• Willingness to participate in a shared on-call rotation for supporting production systems.

• Availability for occasional after-hours, weekend, and holiday on-call duties.

• Eagerness to learn about AI tools for software development.
