This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Create, enhance, and develop software solutions to address business challenges.
• Contribute to the architecture, design, and planning of new features and system capabilities.
• Work collaboratively with data scientists, data engineers, actuaries, and subject-matter experts.
• Integrate data science, AI/agent outputs, and model-driven insights into operational workflows.
• Construct and maintain unit, integration, and automated testing frameworks.
• Manage tasks according to project priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
• Assist in achieving sprint objectives through independent efforts and cross-functional teamwork.
• Engage in code review processes.
• Enhance and support deployment pipelines and release workflows.
• Provide assistance with security measures, encryption, sensitive data management, and platform-level technologies.
• Design and implement front-end solutions using React/TypeScript, including Next.js, as well as Django/REST backend API services.
• Support asynchronous or long-running integrations.
• Design, optimize, and manage SQL databases.
• Document code, architectures, and features comprehensively.
• Utilize GitHub and GitFlow for collaborative software development.
• Deliver scalable, high-quality Nodal® SaaS products that analyze claims data, predict claim risks, and facilitate early interventions.
• Over 10 years of pertinent software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and SQL.
• Proficient in React, TypeScript, and preferably Next.js.
• Experience in developing backend API services using Django, REST, or comparable Python web frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud development, particularly with Azure and/or AWS.
• Experience in Docker or developing containerized applications.
• Skilled in designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Terraform.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
• Experience with the complete software development lifecycle.
• Exceptional technical design, problem-solving, and debugging capabilities.
• Knowledge of domain-driven design, microservices architecture, event-driven architecture, REST API design, and creating testable code.
• Experience in writing unit and integration tests.
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Capability to interpret and apply business and functional requirements.
• Proficiency in translating client business needs, claims workflows, and expertise into actionable product requirements.
• Familiarity with test automation.
• Understanding of secure software development practices, especially regarding sensitive or regulated data.
• A curious mindset, openness to new concepts, and a commitment to continuous learning.
• A deep, evolving understanding of software engineering and industry best practices.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical and business challenges.
• Capacity to collaborate effectively and contribute to a positive, high-performing culture.
• Desired: ongoing education and/or advanced degrees, experience with HIPAA and sensitive data, SaaS and/or P&C insurance knowledge, cloud certifications, test-driven development, event-driven architecture, AI, and machine learning concepts, as well as familiarity with durable background jobs, queues, workers, or asynchronous processing patterns.
