
Staff Software Engineer β Healthcare, Customer Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
β’ Spearhead the creation and implementation of customer-facing applications that facilitate ordering, tracking, and delivery functions.
β’ Take ownership of significant projects from start to finish, encompassing user flows, UX decisions, architecture, data models, full-stack implementation, and post-launch evaluations.
β’ Develop customer feedback mechanisms through direct interactions, analytics, support signals, limited releases, and structured experiments.
β’ Implement practices such as feature flags, beta testing, phased rollouts, or other gradual release strategies.
β’ Elevate the standard for frontend user experience, interaction patterns, accessibility, and overall product refinement.
β’ Collaborate with operations, supply chain, finance, and customer-facing teams to address critical user challenges.
β’ Enhance reliability, testing, observability, and engineering methodologies.
β’ Mentor engineers and establish product-focused technical standards.
β’ Over 10 years of experience in production software engineering, including responsibilities at a staff-level technical scope.
β’ Extensive full-stack experience, particularly in modern frontend development using React or a similar framework, along with robust backend proficiency in Go, Python, or an equivalent language.
β’ Proven track record of developing external customer-facing products where user experience significantly influences adoption, trust, and business results.
β’ Demonstrated passion for customer satisfaction: actively seek feedback, engage directly with users, translate insights into product enhancements, and advocate for customer interests.
β’ Strong independent design and UX judgment; capable of making high-quality product decisions without the assistance of a dedicated designer.
β’ Experience with limited releases, feature flags, beta initiatives, experiments, or gradual rollouts.
β’ History of overseeing architecture across teams, mentoring engineers, and guiding delivery in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
β’ Experience in both a high-engineering-bar organization and a startup or scale-up context.
β’ Proficient in clear and effective communication in English.
β’ Ability to work from the US East Coast or London, UK, with the capacity to travel to Africa approximately three times a year.
