Staff Software Engineer – C++, Radar Sensors

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Create embedded software for sensing systems, incorporating Lidar, Radar, and networking capabilities.

• Provide safe and efficient embedded software solutions for Radar, Lidar, and IMU sensors.

• Collaborate with the Software Architect to realize the vision and generate high-quality, maintainable C++ code.

• Guide junior team members in technical design practices.

• Engage in design and code review processes.

• Design, develop, and test high-performance C++ code in resource-limited environments.

• Work alongside suppliers and cross-functional hardware and systems engineering teams to ensure product success.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related discipline with 7+ years of relevant experience (or a Master's degree with 5+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years of pertinent experience).

• Extensive experience in developing embedded applications and systems using C++.

• Knowledgeable in network communication concepts, including protocols, physical layer requirements, bandwidth characteristics, and configuration.

• Strong skills in software design, algorithms, problem-solving, and analytical thinking.

• Experience with multi-processor SoCs or comparable embedded processors.

• Familiarity with Embedded RTOS such as FreeRTOS and/or Embedded Linux is preferred.

• Background in developing software for highly complex, safety-critical sensing systems is advantageous.

• Solid understanding and experience working with network-based sensors such as radar and lidar.

• Proven track record of technical leadership in automotive or related fields, successfully bringing products to production.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis.

• Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
