Odoo Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Design and maintain customizations for Odoo related to finance and project management systems, which includes a tailored expense application.

• Develop and sustain integrations with Microsoft Dynamics, Zoho, and various banking systems.

• Execute the migration of historical data through scripted and repeatable loads, ensuring validation against source data via dry runs and cutover processes.

• Create and uphold testing pipelines, incorporating test and mock data.

• Engage in daily collaboration with the Odoo Functional Consultant to discuss requirements and explore solution alternatives.

• Work alongside the Project Manager to provide estimates, monitor progress, and identify risks.

• Ensure that technical documentation is up to date.

• Provide support for the system after it goes live.

• Utilize AI coding tools in daily development tasks and contribute to the finance automation initiative.

• Carry out other responsibilities aligned with the role's objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in commercial Python development.

• At least 2 years of experience in creating custom Odoo modules on the latest Odoo versions.

• Extensive expertise in Odoo back-end development, covering ORM, inheritance, security, reports, and scheduled actions.

• Strong knowledge of Odoo front-end development, including OWL and JavaScript.

• Experience in developing custom user-facing Odoo applications.

• Familiarity with integrating Odoo with external systems via REST APIs and Odoo external APIs.

• Proven experience in implementing effective error-handling mechanisms.

• Practical experience with data migration projects, including scripted and repeatable data loads, validation, and ensuring data quality.

• Proficient in PostgreSQL, Git, Linux, Docker, and Odoo deployment and maintenance practices.

• Solid testing discipline, encompassing automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and management of test data.

• A track record of showing initiative and the ability to work independently.

• Professional command of English and Ukrainian.
