Staff Software Engineer – Backend, 7+ years

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of distributed cloud-native applications that accommodate high concurrency and meet demanding real-time data requirements.

• Formulate strategies and deliver hands-on solutions for scalable data pipelines, streaming analytics, and the integration of ML/AI workflows.

• Collaborate with data science, product, and engineering teams to deploy sophisticated and intelligent product features.

• Establish and advocate for engineering standards focused on code quality, security, and operational excellence.

• Promote automation and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks while proactively managing reliability risks.

• Mentor colleagues, conduct code and architecture reviews, and encourage rapid skill development.

• Break down legacy systems into SOA/microservices, address technical debt, and advance architecture to support scalability.

• Assume full responsibility for significant initiatives from planning to impact assessment.

• Guide system evolution, ensure performance under heavy loads, and influence both delivery and technical strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of robust backend development experience.

• Proven track record in designing and managing large-scale distributed systems utilizing cloud service-oriented architecture.

• Demonstrated leadership in dynamic environments, setting high standards, and motivating technical teams to surpass delivery expectations.

• Expertise in backend programming with a requirement for Go.

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Ruby is advantageous.

• Practical experience with distributed data platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, and NoSQL databases.

• Familiarity with building APIs and analytics/data infrastructure.

• Experience in deploying ML algorithms in production environments.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
