This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.
• Define the long-term technical vision and architectural roadmap for FuzeRx’s B2B and consumer digital pharmacy platforms.
• Drive decisions regarding microservices design, API design, database schemas, and data pipelines.
• Write clean, optimized, and maintainable code for critical system components.
• Establish engineering standards, conduct thorough code reviews, and promote modern testing practices.
• Take ownership of the reliability and performance of core platforms.
• Diagnose and resolve complex systemic issues.
• Optimize substantial PostgreSQL workloads and architect high-throughput AWS infrastructure.
• Act as a technical consultant and mentor across multiple agile squads.
• Decompose large, ambiguous technical challenges into actionable execution phases.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Pharmacy Operations, and Engineering Managers on feasibility, roadmaps, and technology selections.
• Design systems with privacy in mind and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and SOC2.
• Assess emerging technologies, frameworks, and patterns.
• Create prototypes and proofs-of-concept to mitigate risks associated with new initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 8+ years of progressive experience in software engineering.
• At least 2+ years of experience as a Tech Lead, Architect, or Staff Engineer designing complex systems.
• Proven experience in designing, building, and scaling high-volume API-led transactional or logistical platforms.
• Experience with building LLM-enabled applications, including orchestration, evaluation, and observability tools such as LangGraph, Mastra, Temporal, LangChain, Vercel AI SDK, Braintrust, or Langfuse.
• Strong relational database skills, including query optimization and data modeling.
• Knowledge of cloud-native infrastructure tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Exceptional ability to convey complex architectural trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success in collaborating with Product Management, Design, and other business partners.
• Availability during standard business hours and for critical tier-3 escalation architecture support as needed.
• Significant product development experience with Ruby, Python, and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Preferred prior engineering experience in Pharmacy Tech, Digital Health, or highly regulated FinTech/HealthTech environments.
• A history of leading major architecture modernization projects is preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements listed, including extended computer-terminal work and lifting light objects up to 20 pounds.
• Must reside in one of the specified eligible U.S. states.
