This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
• Define the long-term technical vision and architectural roadmap for FuzeRx’s B2B and consumer platforms.
• Drive decisions concerning microservices design, API architecture, database schemas, and data pipelines.
• Develop clean, optimized, and maintainable code for essential system components.
• Establish engineering standards and advocate for thorough code reviews and contemporary testing practices.
• Take ownership of the reliability and performance of core platforms.
• Diagnose and resolve intricate systemic issues.
• Optimize extensive PostgreSQL workloads.
• Design high-throughput infrastructure on AWS.
• Serve as a technical consultant and mentor across various agile squads.
• Deconstruct ambiguous, large-scale technical challenges into actionable execution phases.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Pharmacy Operations, and Engineering Managers on feasibility, roadmaps, and technology selections.
• Design systems with privacy in mind and ensure adherence to HIPAA and SOC2 regulations.
• Assess emerging technologies, frameworks, and patterns.
• Create prototypes and proofs-of-concept prior to broader engineering implementation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Over 8 years of progressive experience in software engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience serving as a Tech Lead, Architect, or Staff Engineer in designing complex systems.
• Proven expertise in designing, building, and scaling high-volume API-led transactional or logistical platforms.
• Experience in developing LLM-enabled applications utilizing orchestration, evaluation, and observability tools such as LangGraph, Mastra, Temporal, LangChain, Vercel AI SDK, Braintrust, or Langfuse.
• Strong skills in relational databases, including query optimization and data modeling.
• Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Exceptional ability to communicate complex architectural trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success in collaborating with Product Management, Design, and other business partners.
• Availability during standard business hours and for critical tier-3 escalation architecture support when necessary.
• Significant product development experience with Ruby, Python, and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Previous engineering experience in Pharmacy Tech, Digital Health, or regulated FinTech/HealthTech sectors is preferred.
• A history of leading major architecture modernization initiatives is preferred.
• Ability to work at a computer terminal for extended periods and fulfill the stated physical requirements.
