This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the delivery across various teams, including experiences, services, APIs, data, and integrations.
• Transform unclear product and business requirements into technical strategies, delivery plans, and quantifiable outcomes.
• Establish architecture across different domains, document tradeoffs, and ensure alignment among teams on scalable and secure patterns.
• Develop and review tested code using TypeScript and Node.js, Python, Go, or comparable programming languages.
• Create secure APIs, domain models, microservices, workflows, and data contracts.
• Focus on reliability and performance by implementing error handling, observability, capacity planning, graceful degradation, and recovery patterns.
• Lead the design of third-party integrations, addressing authentication, privacy, data mapping, rate limits, retries, idempotency, monitoring, and vendor failures.
• Facilitate cross-team execution by managing dependencies, sequencing tasks, minimizing risks, and making timely decisions when tradeoffs are necessary.
• Guide engineers through reviews, collaborative work, documentation, and hands-on coaching.
• Collaborate with product, design, security, architecture, site reliability, data, and engineering leaders to balance speed, user experience, operability, and risk.
• Take charge of incident response and root-cause analysis, promoting prevention and operational readiness.
• Enhance engineering efficiency through reusable patterns, automated testing, CI/CD, developer tools, and secure, human-reviewed use of AI-assisted technologies.
• 7–12 years of professional experience in software engineering, with hands-on delivery of intricate production systems and technical leadership across various teams or domains.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Proven experience in delivering complex production software and leading technical direction across teams or domains.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript and Node.js, Python, Go, or similar backend languages, with the capability to work across the stack.
• Advanced knowledge in system design encompassing domain-driven design, microservices, REST APIs, distributed systems, data stores, and integrations.
• Strong discipline in testing, error handling, observability, performance, security, and maintainable delivery.
• Ability to influence without formal authority, clearly articulate architecture, and mentor engineers through reviews and hands-on support.
• Skilled at transforming ambiguity into actionable plans, managing cross-team dependencies, and achieving measurable results.
• Experience in Agile methodologies, iterative delivery, and enhancing team practices through feedback and continuous learning.
• Preferred: experience in SaaS, FinTech, digital banking, payments, or other regulated technology environments.
• Preferred: familiarity with ReactJS, NestJS, or similar frontend and backend frameworks.
• Preferred: experience in designing third-party integrations for financial data, identity, or communication platforms.
• Preferred: knowledge of cloud platforms, containers, orchestration, infrastructure as code, or event-driven architecture.
