Staff Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and implement solutions to ensure “Always On” availability for Visa’s application services.

• Automate processes for monitoring, deployment, and incident response.

• Lead troubleshooting investigations to resolve intricate technical issues and prevent future occurrences.

• Collaborate with global engineering teams to develop, support, and deploy application services.

• Create and maintain documentation repositories for effective knowledge transfer.

• Participate in on-call rotations, including after-hours, to support business operations.

• Automate routine tasks and processes to minimize human errors.

• Contribute to the development of tools for the CI/CD platform, Feature Flags, and integrated developer portal.

• Influence architectural decisions and promote innovation across systems that process billions of transactions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or a minimum of 2 years of experience with an Advanced degree, or no experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant experience.

• Proficiency in Kubernetes and associated technologies like Helm, ArgoCD, and Terraform.

• Experience in automating complex tasks and processes utilizing Python, Go, and Java.

• Background in building and maintaining developer tools such as CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with working in Agile teams.

• Experience in high-paced 24x7 environments.

• Knowledge in distributed systems design and maintenance.

• Expertise in cloud and system architecture across hybrid platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

• Understanding of observability and performance optimization techniques.

• Experience as a software developer.

• Digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies like Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot).
