Staff Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop solutions for the construction, deployment, and management of infrastructure for Ping Identity’s cloud-based offerings.

• Design and implement solutions for software and services on cloud-hosted production infrastructure.

• Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on solutions created by fellow engineers.

• Influence the development and deployment of mission-critical enterprise software utilizing optimized, automated CI/CD pipelines.

• Assist in the design, construction, and support of cloud infrastructure and security technologies to ensure resiliency, observability, and cost optimization.

• Engage with various stakeholders and share knowledge to foster team development.

• Take part in work planning and pinpoint areas for enhancement.

• Conduct evaluations and selections of technology.

• Join an on-call rotation for the maintenance of cloud solutions.

• Collaborate with integrated Development and Operations teams under a DevOps model, facilitating continuous daily deployments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in scalable, distributed systems architecture.

• Proficiency with Cloud Platforms.

• Background in programming with Go.

• Familiarity with containerization technologies, such as Docker.

• Experience with orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes.

• Expertise in defining and implementing automated service deployments, covering networking, security, reliability, management, reporting, and configuration management.

• Comprehensive understanding of best practices in deployment automation.

• Experience using Git within a collaborative environment (including pull requests, branching, pushes, and pulls).

• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• Advantageous: extensive knowledge of networking concepts, including routing, naming, security, network performance, and failure modes.

• Advantageous: deep understanding of identity and access management.

• Advantageous: experience with instrumentation and management of automated deployments.

• Advantageous: background in resolving customer deployment challenges.

• Advantageous: experience collaborating with distributed teams.

• Advantageous: understanding of CI/CD processes and experience in building CI/CD pipelines.
