Staff Product Engineer, Enterprise AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and deliver full-stack features, integrations, and tailored customizations within the Thunderbolt codebase, encompassing everything from front-end UI to APIs, services, and deployment configuration.

• Collaborate closely with technical partners and enterprise clients to comprehend their environments, requirements, and constraints, transforming them into actionable technical plans and functional software.

• Assist with pilots, proofs of concept, and initial production deployments, which may include partner-hosted and customer-managed environments.

• Identify and resolve complex issues across various layers: application, infrastructure, identity and access, integration, and data access.

• Manage customer-specific customizations as the core product undergoes evolution.

• Recognize customer requests that should transition into general product features and work in concert with product and engineering teams to implement them.

• Incorporate deployment feedback into roadmap and prioritization conversations.

• Produce documentation, deployment instructions, and runbooks for partners.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools while ensuring quality, security, and maintainability are upheld.

• Play a key role in establishing Thunderbolt’s first enterprise deployments, stabilizing partner-hosted deployments, and minimizing custom work required for future implementations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial involvement in developing and delivering production applications with a Staff-level scope and impact.

• Proficient full-stack engineering capabilities, encompassing modern TypeScript or JavaScript, component-based front-end frameworks, along with back-end services, APIs, and integrations.

• Significant experience in a technical role directly engaging with customers, partners, or systems integrators, where you also contributed code.

• Background in building or supporting AI-enabled applications, including LLM platforms, RAG systems, agents, enterprise search, or data connectors.

• Strong grasp of enterprise deployment issues, such as authentication and identity providers, access control, self-hosted and hybrid infrastructures, observability, and reliability.

• Excellent communication skills tailored for both technical implementers and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong collaborative abilities with product managers, designers, engineers, and other cross-functional team members.

• Ability to operate independently within an early-stage product environment.

• Candidates must reside in and possess permanent work authorization for the specified country locations in the posting.

• Bonus: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud deployment practices.
