This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop and deliver full-stack features, integrations, and tailored customizations in the Thunderbolt codebase, spanning from front-end UI to APIs, services, and deployment configuration.
• Collaborate closely with technical partners and enterprise clients to comprehend their environments, requirements, and limitations, transforming them into technical plans and functional software.
• Assist in pilots, proofs of concept, and initial production deployments, including those hosted by partners and managed by customers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve intricate issues across application layers, infrastructure, identity and access management, integration, and data access.
• Sustain customer-specific customizations as the primary product develops over time.
• Recognize customer inquiries that should evolve into standardized product features.
• Integrate deployment feedback into roadmap and prioritization discussions.
• Create documentation, deployment instructions, and runbooks for partners.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools while ensuring quality, security, and maintainability.
• Assist in securing Thunderbolt’s inaugural enterprise deployments and minimize custom work for subsequent deployments.
• Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience, with substantial time spent developing and launching production applications at a Staff-level scope and impact.
• Proficient full-stack engineering abilities, including modern TypeScript or JavaScript, component-based front-end frameworks, and back-end services, APIs, and integrations.
• Substantial experience working directly with customers, partners, or systems integrators in a technical role where you also contributed code.
• Experience in building or supporting AI-enabled applications, such as LLM platforms, RAG systems, agents, enterprise search, or data connectors.
• Strong understanding of enterprise deployment considerations, including authentication and identity solutions, access control, self-hosted and hybrid infrastructure, observability, and reliability.
• Ability to discern when to build custom solutions, generalize features into the product, or push back on requests.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical implementers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong collaborative skills with product managers, designers, engineers, and other cross-functional teams.
• Comfort operating independently in an early-stage product environment where requirements, architecture, and processes are still evolving.
