This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Take full ownership of the design process for GrantOS across Platform, Core, and enterprise, encompassing discovery, shipping, and iterations.
• Establish data relationships, permission models, and integration points throughout product workflows.
• Set interaction patterns and foundational design system principles that are adopted by other product areas.
• Create connections across pods to ensure that changes enhance subsequent workflows.
• Lead the definition in greenfield, zero-to-one product environments.
• Draft briefs, clarify problems, and outline roadmap direction in collaboration with the PM.
• Make informed decisions despite incomplete information and prioritize work for swift learning.
• Influence how grant professionals handle tasks, reporting, and integrations throughout the grant lifecycle.
• Recruit participants, conduct interviews, and convert user needs into product direction.
• Champion user advocacy and question any unsuitable product decisions.
• Ensure alignment between engineering, product, and GTM teams on company direction.
• Elevate design quality and mentor fellow designers.
• Report directly to the Head of Design.
• Over 10 years of product design experience, with significant time spent in staff or principal roles, having managed entire product domains rather than just features.
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of a platform or core product area in intricate B2B or enterprise SaaS environments, including data models, permissions, integration points, and patterns utilized by other teams.
• Successfully launched new product initiatives alongside platform work, contributing to 0-to-1 areas that you helped define rather than receiving as fully specified projects.
• Extensive involvement in user research from beginning to end, including planning, recruiting, and synthesizing insights into product decisions.
• Experience in designing agentic or AI-driven product surfaces.
• Background in design systems where you established the patterns rather than merely applying them.
• Proficiency in prototyping with AI tools, such as creating functional prototypes in Claude or Cursor for engineers to utilize.
• Familiarity with compliance, data integrity, or workflow-intensive domains.
• Experience in startups where processes are streamlined and you contributed your own organizational structure.
• History of mentoring or coaching fellow designers.
• Knowledge of the nonprofit or social impact sector.
