This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate as an integral member of the product team by participating in standups, design discussions, product marketing conversations, and product reviews.
• Monitor and assess competitors and related products to uncover feature gaps, emerging trends, and unmet needs.
• Maintain a weekly competitive tracker that includes feature releases, significant launches, and competitor positioning.
• Recruit and interview users aged 16 to 25 to gain insight into their language, listening habits, and unmet needs related to music discovery and sharing.
• Assist with usability testing and concept evaluations for features and prototypes.
• Gather qualitative and quantitative feedback and translate it into actionable recommendations.
• Analyze audience reactions to curation and algorithmic suggestions.
• Examine visual and interaction trends across music, social, and related applications.
• Monitor platforms such as Reddit, Discord, TikTok comments, and app store reviews for relevant themes.
• Facilitate user feedback initiatives by drafting survey questions, tracking feedback and bug reports, and logging recurring themes.
• Organize interview notes, clips, and findings within the research repository.
• Prepare regular internal research summaries along with a final report and presentation.
• Take ownership of a self-directed product research project and present findings and recommendations to the team.
• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program or higher at an accredited institution.
• Must have completed Sophomore year or beyond.
• Must be enrolled in at least one class in the semester/quarter preceding participation in the internship program.
• Must return to school for at least one semester following the completion of the internship.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Preferred degree programs include business, marketing, design, human-computer interaction, communications, music business, or a related field.
• A genuine curiosity about consumer products and the realms of music discovery, sharing, and conversation.
• Strong written communication abilities.
• Comfortable engaging in interviews and asking follow-up questions.
• Organized and self-motivated, capable of managing multiple research tasks with minimal supervision in a remote setting.
• Comfortable handling survey results and basic data sets.
• Hands-on experience with TikTok, Instagram, Discord, Reddit, and major streaming services.
• Ability to handle confidential product, partner, and roadmap information discreetly.
• Successful completion of a post-offer background check and drug screening.
• Previous internship, coursework, or project experience in user research, product management, marketing, or design is a plus.
• Practical experience with interviews, surveys, or usability testing is a bonus.
• Familiarity with Figma, Notion, and survey or analytics platforms is advantageous.
• Proficiency with AI tools is a plus.
