Staff Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Establish and document standards for AI integration across the enterprise, focusing on prompt engineering patterns and validation frameworks.

• Recognize pitfalls associated with AI-generated code, such as security vulnerabilities and over-abstraction, and assess business impact through PR velocity and quality metrics.

• Spearhead the design and enhancement of highly available, scalable infrastructures.

• Design CI/CD ecosystems and developer tools to minimize software delivery friction and enhance productivity.

• Act as a subject matter expert in platform security, implementing safeguards and compliance standards.

• Propel the system observability roadmap, encompassing monitoring, tracing, and alerting architectures.

• Serve as a liaison between engineering, product, and quantitative teams to translate requirements into scalable platform solutions.

• Provide mentorship to engineers, manage incident response strategies, foster operational excellence, and champion emerging technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in platform engineering or DevOps.

• Demonstrated success in architecting scalable, high-availability cloud-native environments utilizing AWS and Kubernetes.

• Advanced proficiency with AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.

• Capability to assess AI tools and establish validation strategies to address over-abstraction and security vulnerabilities.

• Profound technical expertise in Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.

• Strong programming skills in Java and Python; Golang experience is preferred.

• Full-stack experience that connects infrastructure with application logic.

• Extensive experience in creating mature CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with advanced observability, chaos testing, and incident management frameworks.

• Ability to balance architectural standards with metrics driven by data productivity.

• Outstanding communication and partnership skills with engineering, product, and quantitative teams.
