This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish the architecture and best practices for the platform and infrastructure layer upon which the product is developed.
• Take ownership of the deployment pipeline and spearhead the transition to a GitOps model (Argo) for rapid and secure releases.
• Design and strengthen multi-tenant isolation and blast-radius protection for premier clients, including pathways to dedicated or single-tenant deployments.
• Oversee database stabilization and the underlying platform initiatives related to performance, availability, and safe migrations.
• Create the foundational infrastructure for compliance-intensive and government deployments, encompassing encryption, authentication, boundary, and data-flow design.
• Set the benchmark for observability, on-call practices, and operational readiness throughout the engineering team, promoting a platform-first mindset.
• Partner with leadership and product teams to convert platform capabilities into offerings that are customer-facing.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Over 10 years of practical experience in designing, operating, and scaling high-performance production systems.
• Profound knowledge of Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code tools, such as Terraform.
• Strong database expertise, particularly with Postgres, including experience in performance, availability, and migrations at scale.
• Architectural insight at both system and cross-team levels, including assessments of blast radius and changes across multiple regions.
• Proficient in at least one application programming language; preference for JVM.
• Strong security perspective, covering IaC, secrets management, least privilege principles, and common application security vulnerabilities.
• Competent and critical use of AI in daily engineering tasks, along with careful evaluation of AI outputs.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a proven history of guiding technical direction that others adopt.
• Experience with FedRAMP, FISMA, or other government/compliance deployments is advantageous.
• Previous work experience in a rapidly growing startup is a plus.
