Staff Pharmacist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Interpret prescriptions from physicians and prescribers.

• Reach out to doctors, prescribers, and patients to confirm prescription details and facilitate order processing.

• Advise patients on medication usage and possible drug interactions.

• Monitor order status and address any outstanding issues.

• Manage customer inquiries regarding lost orders or dispensing mistakes.

• Maintain daily standards for production, quality, and service.

• Modify work priorities and tasks to meet business demands.

• Contact physicians for new or transfer authorizations.

• Collaborate with physicians to switch prescriptions to generics or preferred medications whenever possible.

• Supervise and ensure quality assurance for pharmacy technicians.

• Authenticate and confirm the legitimacy of controlled substances.

• Validate prescription information entered by data entry or order entry staff.

• Provide backup support to other pharmacists as necessary.

• Mentor less experienced pharmacists.

• Carry out additional responsibilities assigned by management.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is required; a PharmD is preferred.

• Must hold a current active resident pharmacist license in good standing.

• Strong advanced problem-solving abilities.

• Capable of working collaboratively across departments to resolve issues.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting prescriptions.

• Strong commitment to customer service, quality, and precision.

• Ability to manage deadlines and meet tight client timelines.

• Adaptable to a dynamic working environment.

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule during high-volume periods.

• Must be a resident and licensed in Arizona, Indiana, Florida, Ohio, or Tennessee.

• Requires cable broadband or fiber optic internet service with a minimum of 10 Mbps download/5 Mbps upload for remote work.
