Medication Support Navigator, Certified Pharmacy Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee, prioritize, and allocate clinical pharmacy referrals to the suitable clinical pharmacy team member.

• Assist both internal and external team members in navigating the clinical pharmacy referral process according to patient requirements.

• Arrange appointments for patients and caregivers for pharmacist-led clinical programs.

• Prepare patient charts ahead of Clinical Pharmacist appointments.

• Communicate with pharmacies, insurance providers, and internal teams to address medication access issues, with pharmacist assistance when necessary.

• Compile medication histories.

• Track incoming medication renewal requests and manage them according to internal protocols, seeking help when outside of renewal guidelines.

• Supervise incoming prior authorization requests and prepare necessary documentation for the clinical pharmacist's review.

• Work autonomously with pharmacist supervision and collaborate effectively both within and outside the department.

• Execute additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Current certification as a pharmacy technician from an accredited body (such as PTCB).

• Ongoing maintenance of certification is expected.

• Registration with the relevant state board(s) of pharmacy as mandated by law.

• Expected maintenance of technician registration for all assigned states.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a pharmacy technician.

• Experience in pediatrics is preferred.

• Experience in an ambulatory clinic or specialty pharmacy is preferred.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
