Staff Offensive Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Establish the long-term vision and technical strategy for offensive security at Greenlight.

• Design and implement intricate, multi-stage adversary simulations that target AWS cloud infrastructure, iOS/Android mobile applications, and internal corporate environments.

• Conduct extensive vulnerability research into high-risk areas, including zero-day vulnerabilities and complex logic flaws.

• Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering to create automated security guardrails and self-healing infrastructures.

• Partner with the Detection and Response team on purple team exercises to enhance monitoring and validate alert coverage.

• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, promoting a security-focused development culture throughout the R&D organization.

• Execute continuous offensive security validations across consumer digital platforms, mobile applications, cloud infrastructures, internal corporate environments, and emerging hardware device lines.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in offensive security, red teaming, or penetration testing.

• Demonstrated success in identifying critical vulnerabilities within complex environments.

• In-depth knowledge of AWS security architecture, including IAM bypass techniques, container escapes (Kubernetes), and serverless security.

• Proficiency in manual code review for Node.js, Python, or Go.

• Familiarity with bypass techniques for contemporary web and mobile security controls.

• Capability to script in Python, Bash, or Go.

• Experience in automating exploitation chains or integrating security testing into CI/CD pipelines.

• Skill in translating complex technical risks into business impacts for executive stakeholders.

• Relevant certifications such as OSCP/OSCE or GXPN are preferred but not mandatory.

• A mindset characterized by curiosity, persistence, and innovative thinking.

• A collaborative approach to assisting teams in strengthening their systems.

• Strong sense of ownership and accountability for security.
