Security Engineer – Intrusion Prevention Monitoring

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Execute comprehensive monitoring tasks for cybersecurity tools.

• Assess IPS events to decrease false-positive alerts and suggest adjustments that enhance the protection of network assets.

• Create and implement approved automated response mechanisms and threat-reporting capabilities.

• Mitigate potential impacts and facilitate swift incident response.

• Record monitoring outcomes, issues, and recommendations.

• Coordinate necessary tickets or corrective measures.

• Assist in the oversight of SIPR tools from an authorized Government location when responsibilities necessitate SIPR access.

• Utilize LCAT expertise in information-assurance scanning and Tier 2 troubleshooting or cybersecurity engineering for IPS monitoring and optimization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree along with five years of relevant experience.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Possess an active Secret clearance when responsibilities involve classified information or SIPRNet access.

• Proficiency in information-assurance scanning and Tier 2 troubleshooting or cybersecurity engineering, relevant to the assigned labor category.

• Capability to support SIPR tools from an authorized Government location when responsibilities require SIPR access.
