This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +4 more states.
• Design, architect, and implement security platforms and services.
• Take ownership of and enhance Terraform Infrastructure as Code standards alongside GitHub Actions CI/CD methodologies.
• Offer technical leadership and mentorship through design reviews, code assessments, and secure engineering advice.
• Drive the integration, tuning, and lifecycle management of essential security tools.
• Collaborate with Incident Response, Threat Engineering, and GRC to transform threats, incidents, and compliance needs into engineering solutions and roadmap priorities.
• Advocate for AI-assisted engineering practices to boost team efficiency, code quality, and testing coverage.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and root-cause analysis for security tool incidents.
• Enhance resilience through capacity planning, disaster recovery strategies, and the development of runbooks.
• Represent SENG in architecture reviews and cross-functional technical discussions.
• Deliver production-ready systems punctually and within budget while maintaining engineering and security standards.
• Extensive hands-on experience in security engineering or a related domain, including the design and operation of cloud-native security platforms at production scale.
• Proven ownership of security architecture in AWS (or OCI/Aliyun), including management of multi-account environments and cross-region/CN considerations.
• High-level expertise with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices, along with experience in establishing standards and patterns for a team.
• Experience in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) with a focus on reliability and security.
• Comprehensive hands-on experience across SIEM, EDR, DLP, PAM, WAF, SOAR, and vulnerability management.
• A solid track record of mentoring engineers and guiding technical design decisions within a team.
• Advanced scripting and software development capabilities (e.g., Python), including experience in building and operating production services (APIs, cronjobs) on Kubernetes/EKS.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Spec-driven development) and the ability to discern where they provide the most value.
• Familiarity with Agile and/or DevOps frameworks, including driving enhancements to team processes and delivery practices.
