This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and implement the long-term strategy for Lyra’s machine learning and generative AI platform.
• Facilitate the rapid, secure, and dependable deployment of cutting-edge models throughout the organization.
• Design comprehensive training, fine-tuning, and low-latency inference systems.
• Create centralized RAG architecture, vector databases, and enterprise evaluation/guardrail systems.
• Set organizational benchmarks for the entire AI/ML SDLC, covering dataset lineage, CI/CD pipelines, automated model assessments, red-teaming, and production oversight.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Data Science, Security, and Clinical leaders to convert strategic clinical objectives into AI capability roadmaps.
• Guide Senior ML Engineers and lead architectural evaluations.
• Promote engineering best practices across various teams.
• Oversee technical prototypes, critical-path architecture, and strategic coding efforts.
• Produce high-quality production code.
• Over 8 years of experience implementing complex ML/AI solutions in mission-critical production settings, demonstrating a strong record of technical leadership.
• Proficient in Python, RESTful API design, Protobuf, and microservices architecture.
• Extensive knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, container orchestration, and real-time inference services.
• Practical experience in designing and deploying RAG pipelines, fine-tuning LLMs, managing vector databases, and constructing LLM evaluation/guardrail frameworks.
• Expertise in relational databases, low-latency key-value stores, distributed queuing system architectures such as Celery and Kafka, and data pipeline orchestration.
• Significant experience in architecting cloud-native solutions on AWS or comparable cloud platforms.
• Outstanding ability to translate unclear technical issues into well-defined strategic goals and to influence leadership across engineering, product, and business sectors.
• Preferred: experience in writing high-performance production code using Java or Kotlin.
• Preferred: experience in architecting AI/ML systems within regulated environments, including HIPAA compliance, SOC2, and management of PHI/PII.
• Preferred: experience in creating internal developer platforms or ML tools utilized by numerous data scientists and engineers.
