Staff Machine Learning Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +29 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and manage ML infrastructure, including workspaces, clusters, jobs, and workflows.

• Productionize ML workloads utilizing Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and Databricks Workflows.

• Instruct data scientists on leveraging the ML platform to transition development from notebook to production.

• Implement Unity Catalog for data governance, lineage, access control, and secure multi-tenant usage.

• Develop CI/CD pipelines for ML using Terraform and Git-based workflows like GitHub Actions.

• Enhance performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across training and inference workloads.

• Configure IAM and RBAC for handling sensitive data sets.

• Establish monitoring for data quality, model performance, and platform health.

• Create and maintain technical documentation for the ML Platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in building production ML or data platforms.

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related technical field; a graduate degree is preferred.

• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow.

• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and concepts related to distributed systems.

• Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.

• Comprehensive understanding of MLOps best practices, including CI/CD, monitoring, reproducibility, and security.

• Experience in supporting multiple ML teams within a shared platform environment.

• Proficiency or familiarity with Kotlin, PyTorch, Kafka, Snowflake, Fivetran, Iceberg, Unity Catalog, Datadog, Airflow, Cockroach DB, MySQL, AWS, S3, SageMaker, Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Claude Sonnet 4.5, and ChatGPT 5.2.
