Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Oversee and ensure the security of the global ingress and gateway infrastructure.

• Facilitate the transition of outdated edge systems to contemporary, decentralized gateway platforms.

• Collaborate with Platform, Security, and Engineering teams to create resilient and highly observable edge traffic routing.

• Contribute to design efforts and take ownership of designated delivery components.

• Develop automation and tools to enhance platform adoption and minimize manual support tasks.

• Assist in multi-environment deployment pipelines and engage in peer review processes.

• Produce technical documentation and runbooks.

• Engage in a rotational on-call program to ensure platform stability and respond to incidents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building, configuring, or supporting public-facing traffic routing, reverse proxies, or API gateways in a production setting.

• Practical experience with cloud infrastructure and containerized environments.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD tools, such as Terraform, Kubernetes, and GitHub Actions.

• Competence in Go, Python, C#, or another modern programming language.

• Experience in developing automated tools and platform capabilities.

• Proven track record of implementing infrastructure changes in live production environments.

• Ability to manage disruptions effectively and know when to request reviews.

• Strong skills in technical writing.

• Capacity to communicate updates, risks, and obstacles to teams and stakeholders.
