Staff Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Develop the long-term technical strategy for Growth and Engagement machine learning systems.

• Design and implement production-grade ML pipelines and real-time decision-making systems for personalization, notification delivery, and onboarding processes.

• Assess and incorporate multi-armed bandits, reinforcement learning, large language models for content creation, and graph neural networks.

• Create, train, and validate models for predicting churn, lifetime value forecasting, next-best-action, and lookalike modeling.

• Construct and enhance recommendation engines and semantic search systems.

• Set up experimentation frameworks that include A/B testing, causal inference, and multivariate testing.

• Collaborate with Product and Growth Marketing teams to convert business hypotheses into machine learning challenges.

• Provide mentorship and coaching to senior engineers within data and ML teams.

• Promote best practices in model monitoring, feature stores, reproducible training pipelines, and data governance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional experience in machine learning engineering, data science, or software engineering.

• Minimum of 3 years in a Staff, Principal, or Technical Lead role.

• Demonstrated success in building and scaling ML systems within growth, marketing technology, recommendation engines, or consumer engagement sectors.

• Significant experience in large-scale data processing and distributed computing.

• Proficient in Python, Scala, or Java.

• Familiarity with frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, or XGBoost.

• Experience with technologies such as Spark, Flink, Kafka, Snowflake/BigQuery, Ray, Kubeflow, MLflow, or SageMaker.

• Strong understanding of causal inference, uplift modeling, and rigorous statistical testing methodologies.

• Ability to link algorithmic enhancements to growth metrics like MAU/DAU, conversion rates, and retention curves.

• Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical architectures and algorithmic decisions to non-technical stakeholders and executives.
