Software Engineer, New Grad – Machine Learning Platform

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain the core infrastructure that supports Quora's machine learning platform.

• Ensure the infrastructure for the ML platform is highly available, scalable, and performs optimally.

• Enhance and construct distributed systems that deliver production ML models, encompassing LRMs and LLMs.

• Work on GPU model serving while optimizing latency, throughput, and cost efficiency.

• Contribute to the standardization of PyTorch as a priority and modernize the ML ecosystem.

• Create tools that enhance the development, testing, and deployment speed for ML engineers.

• Upgrade the feature store to expedite the production of new features.

• Engage in the on-call rotation to assist in resolving production-related issues.

• Deliver production-level work within the initial weeks while gaining insights from senior and staff engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Availability for meetings and spontaneous communication during Quora's coordination hours, Monday–Friday, 9am–3pm Pacific Time.

• Anticipated graduation in 2025 or 2026 with or currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• A genuine enthusiasm for large-scale distributed systems, infrastructure, and machine learning.

• Proficiency in Python, Go, or C++, or the capability to learn them swiftly.

• Preferred prior software engineering experience through internships, work experience, open-source contributions, or coding competitions.

• Preference for coursework or practical experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, or AWS is preferred.

• Experience in profiling, benchmarking, or optimization is advantageous.

• Final candidates will need to complete identity verification and a thorough background check before onboarding.
