This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Lead the design and development of applications for customer order entry utilizing React and Next.js.
• Take ownership of frontend architecture decisions, encompassing SSR/SSG strategies, state management, performance enhancement, and accessibility.
• Create scalable and resilient user experiences that accommodate complex order workflows, validation rules, and real-time feedback.
• Collaborate with backend teams to establish clear and well-documented API contracts for order submission and validation.
• Promote the use of unit, integration, and end-to-end test automation for both frontend and supporting services.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines with an emphasis on quality gates, test reliability, and deployment confidence.
• Ensure that applications adhere to production standards regarding performance, observability, security, and usability.
• Serve as a technical mentor and leader, elevating frontend engineering maturity and best practices throughout the team.
• Allocate 60% of your time to hands-on coding and 40% to mentorship activities.
• Collaborate with Product Management, UX, and Architecture teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, building, testing, and deploying modern software applications.
• Strong proficiency in React, Next.js, and modern JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience in developing complex, form-driven or workflow-based user interfaces, preferably in order entry, checkout, or transactional systems.
• Demonstrated experience with test automation frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with backend integration patterns, including REST APIs, event-driven systems, and asynchronous workflows.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and containerized environments.
• Capability to make informed technical decisions, influence design direction, and lead in uncertain problem spaces.
• Experience working within Agile teams with strong collaboration among engineering, product, and design disciplines.
