Staff Engineer, Experience Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and create the next generation of user experiences for both human and agent users within the LaunchDarkly product suite.

• Comprehend essential use cases and develop supporting technical platforms.

• Offer guidance and tools that empower other teams to enhance experiences more efficiently.

• Collaborate with product teams on user experience platforms and tools.

• Mentor engineers and elevate the team's standards for technical rigor and system design.

• Ensure operational excellence for the experience platform, which includes monitoring, observability, incident response, on-call duties, telemetry, and alerting.

• Establish technical direction, compose specifications, and exert influence across teams.

• Manage systems comprehensively from end to end.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in building large-scale products for sophisticated audiences seeking assistance to undertake complex tasks.

• Proven experience in creating and designing interfaces along with supporting technology platforms in consumer-grade enterprise applications.

• Demonstrated technical leadership experience: setting direction, writing specifications, and influencing across teams.

• BA/BS degree in mathematics, statistics, data science, or a related field, with a preference for a graduate degree.

• Plus: Proficiency in Go, Python, or similar programming languages.

• Plus: Familiarity with event-driven architectures and large-scale data processing for high-volume event ingestion and analysis.

• Plus: Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP) and data storage solutions (ClickHouse, Redis, DynamoDB, Kafka, etc.).

• Plus: Knowledge of experiment lifecycle tooling, including flag-experiment integration, metric frameworks, and automated monitoring.

• Plus: Understanding of the competitive landscape (Statsig, Eppo, GrowthBook, Optimizely).

• Plus: Experience in funnel analysis, causal inference, or Bayesian experimentation.
